Located in Pocatello in Idaho's Southeast corner, Idaho State University is located at the foot of the Portneuf Mountains. It is in one of the most scenic areas of the United States and surrounded by world famous attractions.




Pocatello is a college town home to 56,000 people, with life revolving around the Idaho State Athletics
programs.​​

The area is also known for its outdoors activities with beautiful hiking trails, kayaking, and climbing popular in the spring and fall, and skiing and snow
boarding in the winter.​​

It was named after Chief Pocatello, a Native-American leader of the Shoshone tribe. After making peace with the U.S. Government in the late 1800's, the city was named in his honor.
